I'm applying to Kelley relatively soon to hopefully gain admission in the fall. Would taking a photography class as a Gen Ed look bad on my application? I do photography as a hobby and I've always wanted to take a class on it to learn more.

Currently I have one "deficiency" in Finite with a B-. At the same time, I have an A- in K201, which I feel confident that I can get up to a solid A. I'm also a member of the conduct board and represent a minority group which will hopefully work more for me than against me. I've also completed an internship over the summer which I can hopefully show on my application.

So anyways, what do you guys think about my spring schedule and any opinions about where I stand in terms of getting into Kelley?

woops! I meant T-275.
I’m a sophomore but this is my first semester here. I’m in compass T-175 right now.

How is E201 here? I’ve already taken Macro at a different school and I enjoyed it! I have to take E201 next semester since I already have credit for A201/202,M118,M119, and E202. I also need it to apply to Kelley for fall admission.
My only other options would be to take A100+BusG202 or E370. Both which require E201 as a prerequisite.

Forgot to mention that I also have credit for W131 and L201. The requirements have just recently changed and I have to take 2 courses from here, so basically there’s no way of getting out of micro since I have credit for everything else. I’ve already fulfilled the requirements for the other 2 sections.

Choose two additional options from this list: BUS-A 201, BUS-A 202, ECON-E 201, ECON-E 202, MATH-M 118, MATH-M 119, ECON-E 370, OR BUS-A 100 AND BUS-G 202*

If I end up getting the B- in finite, do you think I will still have a good shot of getting in given the criteria above?

I’ve heard rumors of people being turned down with a C+ and B-, and I’ve also heard stories of people getting in with a D+ and C on their transcripts.

That actually sounds like a good idea. I’m going to try and take that over Microeconomics for now. Calc. II is a prerequisite for Math-M 365 unless you have consent by the instructor so I’m going to look into that. Otherwise, I’m thinking about doing Stat-S 301.

Congrats on the grades so far! Looks like you are half-way there.

Just checked the real-time schedule for spring and there are still 7 openings for Math K310 (I think it is still equivalent to Econ E370 for Kelley admissions purposes and you don’t need to have taken Econ E201 to take Math K310) with Orrick. The MWF 9:05 am class time probably kept some people from signing up. This class has a high “solid B” or higher rate every semester it seems, and this with a very low level of math majors taking it, usually less than 5% of the class.

I am currently enrolled in Stat-S 301 with Brad Luen. I don’t think he has been around too long so I was a little concerned when I first signed up but the class in general doesn’t seem so bad.

I just looked at the grade distributions for Math-K 310 and it does seem like a good idea. The only down side is that I will have to switch out my fundamentals of photography class if I go that route. (Fina-N 198).

Do you know where I can find the course equivalencies for the Kelley pre reqs?
Can’t seem to find them on the bulletin board or Kelley website.
