I’m a member of the class of 2018 and I’m entering my Sophomore year. (Please note that the level of classes go from general to advanced and then finally honors!)
Rate 1-10
Honors English II
Honors U.S. History
Honors Geometry
Honors Biology
Honors Chemistry
Honors Algebra II
Advanced Spanish II (Highest for Sophomores taking Spanish)
I ended with a 3.9 GPA unweighted and I’m wondering if I’m doing alright for high school. My weighted GPA was a 4.6.
No, by this point in your high school career you’re basically screwed for going to any “decent” college. A 3.9 unweighted and 4.5 weighted is going to KILL you for admissions. Sorry, there isn’t anything you can do.
^ lol.
Tbh, rating schedule without knowing your school is pointless. Only way to rate your schedule yourself is by comparing yourself to the top person in your grade, and the top % of your class. I would generally do it like this…
If your schedule is on par with the smartest person or two in your grade level, then = 10
if on par with top 1% then = 9
if on par with top 5% then = 8
if on par with top 10% then = 7, etc…
Try to throw in at least 1 AP if it isn’t offered self study something easy like AP human geo or AP psych
You’re doubling up in math and science: what’s your endgame there, what classes will you take as a junior and a senior?
Keep in mind you need one each of English, Math, Science, Social Science, and Foreign Language every year of high school (or equivalent level effectively reached, ie., if you reach AP level you’re considered good for math and foreign language). In addition, you need to have one each of bio, chem, and physics, plus one AP science (“core” or “light” depending on your target major.)
Rating your schedule is pointless though unless you tell us what college you’d be aiming for and what your plans for jr and sr year would be.
