RD Acceptance Roster

Hey, I got accepted! w007!!! It's pretty strange, because I didn't apply ED, yet I received an "early notification" today in the mail. I could be wrong, but I really don't think this is a likely letter. Here's what the first paragraph says:

"It is my pleasure to enthusiastically offer you admission to Macalester College beginning in the Fall 2006 semester! I invite you to become a member of the Class of 2010, no because you meet the requirements of some magic admissions 'formula,' but because we are convinced that you will contribute something unique, special, and original to the Macalester community."

yep i got mine today. wasn't expecting anything this early... it was a super surprise... grinnell and macalester came the same day... it was kind of funny, the macalester envelope said "YES" in big letters and the grinnell said "Congratulations" and my mom told me not to get my hopes up because it's so early... silly parents... congratulations to everyone accepted so far!!!... and good luck to everyone else

Congrats! Hoping I'll receive a letter in the next month or so.... arghhhghrsengjksngflsdngfsd

fireflyscout: Thanks, and send my congrats to your daughter!

I got in too! I thought it was just another brochure until I opened it. Month early! Big shock.

Wow, where do you guys live? I've heard nothing. I hope that's not bad...

i'm from new york... but if you haven't heard anything yet i wouldn't worry too much... these are just early notification letters or something like that... they haven't sent them all out yet... anyways, hopefully you'll hear soon, good luck!

Did you get merit aid or anything or are they just early because you got in? My mailing address is in CT, so if they mailed all of them I should be getting mine soon, but it sounds like they just mailed some of them. What do you mean by early notification?? Why do they do that?

Why do they do that?

To make 1/3 of the applicant pool happy and 2/3 more stressed out. >:(

Congrats to all of you that made it, though, really. No hard feelings, as I'm sure some of you understand the anxiety.... aghhhh

I live in California. I agree it stresses people out, but I think it was just because our apps were processed early. You guys will be fine. Best of luck to all of you!

I as I said above, I'm from Washington state. And yeah, I wouldn't worry about not hearying anything - I think our apps were just the first off the pile.

Seole - there wasn't any mention of financial aid in the letter.

congrats to everybody accepted,
no worries to those who havent heard anything yet, honestly,

i didnt get my letter until around the 2nd week of march last year and its still much earlier than other schools

mac doesn't even start considering aid for another 2 weeks, as far as I know, fin aid stuff all comes later. and with the new aid system in process, it may take more time for them to sort things out.

congrats everyone! That's so awesome!

that still makes me so nervous. I really just want to know if i've gotten in or not.

^Ditto

Congrats to those who know already! Hang in there, everyone else...
