With the Oxford Cleric, a young man came,
A student, Blank Blank his name.
Applying to Duke with nerves of jello,
He hoped to be a future class fellow.

Screen Name:

You know, I heard they didn't even film GG at Yale.

Really? How disappointing. I didn't mention this in my application but another reason I wanted to apply was because Yale, the Building, looked cool in GG. Hmm.

Other comments on Yale: not really

I rewatched the episode of Gilmore Girls where they 'visit Harvard,' and noticed how obviously not Harvard it was. They were using tricky angles and juxtaposing pictures of famous buildings onto the screen, but I always knew the skies were too creepily blue to be New England....

Legacy?: Minor, a cousin got his M.Phil and Ph.D there. So essentially no.
Any Hooks?: I am a founding member of the Sacramento Heart Gallery (for pictures of adopted children) and I've done other internships with adoption. I have no idea if this is unusual, though. I'm really into social justice/and I want to major in Sociology.

Favorite vacation spot: We don't really vacation, but I like camping in Tahoe I guess.
Dream Vacation spot: So many places. I want to see the states first, but also Ireland, Finland, Sweden, Holland, Switzerland, England, Thailand, St. Petersburg (where my relatives lived), Israel, South America, Canada....I want to travel...and I'm obsessed with travel guides even though I don't have a passport.
Fav sport: I used to play basketball for my school. I enjoy the Olympics, and NCAA basketball.

Intended major (top choice): Sociology
Future goals: Run a non-profit (this is what my best friend thinks I will do), travel, have children, I have no idea...

Legacy?: nope
Any Hooks?: not really. serious involvement in politics. my interviewer also said that yale really likes people who takes chinese, and i have been studying it for 4 years... so maybe? but i doubt it because another girl in my class who takes chinese got deferred, so it can't be that much of a hook. plus native speakers. shoot.

Favorite vacation spot: my house.
Dream Vacation spot: China. Greece. Italy. Thailand. England. France. Zimbabwe. Some place in the middle east would be cool, but kind of dangerous...

Other comments on Yale: yeah awesome incredible reach school...

Screen Name:

carpecollege- yay Rilo Kiley! I saw them in June at the Hyatt in SF with Feist, it was unbelievable, seriously the best night of my life. Folksy oldies are also wonderful, I know what you're talking about.
Personally, I loathed the Chem SAT II. I took it right before I took the AP test and the SAT II seemed harder, but then again I didn't study for it so I didn't really know the test format. Since I got a five on the AP test, I figure colleges will know that I was decent at chem.

reading-- that's awesome! i'm jealous...

it's weird about the sat 2! my school doesn't offer APs, and my teacher said we wouldn't really be ready for the AP, so i just took the SAT 2. it's crazy that you did so much better on the AP, which is supposed to be so much harder. my biggest problem on it was that i felt really rushed. but i was soo relieved when i got my score; i had a really tough practice book, and i kept getting like 600s...

carpecollege-- I studied for about a month straight for AP chem, and for two weeks before the exam I did almost all of the Form A and Bs from the past 7 years or so, because I am not very scientifically-inclined and my school has a low AP chem pass rate because we are not usually very prepared. It paid off though!
