<p>I have a brief rule of thumb, if you would like responses please condense your work. But regardless, I'll review your chances. You have decent SAT scores for Yale, nothing spectacular but not bad either. Your SAT II scores are okay, medicore at best, rather low for Yale. However, Yale focuses on other aspects of your application so they will not hurt you. Why only one AP test if your school is competitive? Your transcript is great, a lot of As, and this correlates to a good class rank. Good recommendation letters will help you, I hope. How exactly are they out of the norm? If they are well written then you will be fine. You have a laundry list of ECs that is by no-means impressive. Too many repeats, why wouldn't you say that your play an instrument? You certainly cannot fit all that onto an application, and sending a resume similar to yours is application suicide. But you participate in mock trial, which in my eyes is a plus. Go mock trial? What is your case this year? Sorry, continuing on speaking with the governor is okay, is that really anything distinguishing? I mean, compared with Siemen's winners and IMO participants, talking to a governor doesn't compare. Receiving the Brown Book Award isn't going to help you when applying to Yale. Is your art good enough for a supplemental portfolio, if not then winning at school award isn't impressive. Wow! How many school awards do you have? After the first one I begin to wonder the prestige factor of such awards. I mean you only have a class of 65 so the odds are pretty good. Winning scholarships are not important unless you have a state or national title to go along (ie Ayn Rand essay contest, Siemen, ISEF). Being a member of NHS isn't an impressive award, almost everyone on this board is a member of NHS. Overall, do you have anything more than school and regional awards? State or National awards, or maybe awards that are of importance (stuff the distinguishes you from other applicants?) I apologize if I am scathing, I hate laundry lists. Do not send a resume with your applications if you plan to inform the admission officers of your "achievements."</p>
