RD (International) DHL Email Notification Thread

Post here once you get your DHL email on the 27th.

For those who don't know, students living abroad who get accepted would know beforehand as they would receive an email from DHL generally around mailing day (in this case March 27th) or a day or two later. The email includes the tracking number, weight and other specifications. If you get the email, you're in.

Note: U.S. Citizens living "internationally" also get the DHL email.

keeping my fingers crossed. Got rejected by UCLA and Wesleyan today. I could really use some good news… Good luck to y’all

I also got rejected form UCLA today. Some good news would be a welcome change!

I really need that DHL email soon, I’m on edge big time. :/

Finger crossed. Hope I can get the DHL email

so are we sure DHL email means acceptance? does rejection come in regular postal mail?

so wait let me get this straight… if we don’t get the DHL email on the 27th ew can start freaking out?

like, if we receive an DHL email, it has to be the 27th? and if we do, does that mean we’re definitely 100% in? which would mean if we don’t receive anything by the 28th, we are rejected… **** this.

Yes, in every single year DHL was used by USC, rejections were never sent by DHL, at all. Rejection comes through regular mail, and that also makes sense. Do you think USC would waste money by using DHL for all the rejection applicants? As every year has demonstrated, a DHL indicates an acceptance.

OK so here’s the deal, whenever DHL initially scans your package back at their office prior to sending it onto airplane you get an email. Since there is possibly a thousand or more accepted international students, it may take several days for DHL to finish scanning every single one.
From what I’ve read in last year’s DHL threads, the majority of the emails came on the same day as the mailing day (the 27th in this case), another huge wave of emails came the second day, and the rest came on third day. I don’t think anyone got an email on the foruth day. Don’t freak out if you don’t get an email on the 27th.

I’ve ordered things on-line from the States many times and I often use DHL as a delivery service (so it arrives quicker) and I have never once gotten an email of any sorts… I do of course get a call once the package has arrived but never an email letting me know it’s on the way… Are we 100% certain that an email will be sent first? And if we don’t get an email then we should assume the worst?

Yes, in every single year that has been the case.

Read this thread from last year to gauge the frequency of the DHL e-mails:http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-southern-california/1107848-international-dhl-email-come-way-plz.html

Last year’s mailing date was the 22nd

Ok thanks for the reply and the link! I read through the whole thing :stuck_out_tongue:

I did see this though posted by someone :
“New boxes under admission tabs. No DHL notification. Admission package received this afternoon! Ohoooo~Good luck to all of you.”

But I’m assuming that’s a very odd case?

He either could’ve not been an international student, provided the wrong/different email or it went to his junk folder.

Remember to check your USConnect too for the Enrollment Deposit box. If everything goes as planned, you should see that by Thursday of this week. If you see that, even if you haven’t received the DHL Email, you are IN!

bump - just to keep it on the first page

bump- what JME1992 said.

will waitlist students get a DHL or a snail mail?!

We’re talking Pacific time right? Sooo it is still very early in the morning in Socal.

I didn’t think USC had a waitlist option…

I believe the first DHL e-mail was sent 2-3 hours from now, last year. Don’t panic if you don’t get it, DHL can’t scan thousands of packets in a mere couple hours. It takes days.
