Don’t worry, even for people living in the same area (town/city) , delivery time still varies…
Good luck :)

Here in Tucson, AZ, my girlfriend got her acceptance package and I didn’t get anything. This would usually worry me, since we live mere minutes away. But after checking Bannerweb, I saw that all of my financial aid was processed and there were requirements I had to have for direct loans, which I would assume means I got accepted. I guess we’ll see tomorrow!

Same situation. Not nearly enough aid to consider attending. Difference between efc and actual cost is very large.

Accepted (priority mail, big envelope). Minnesota. Need more info for aid, but I’m not optimistic… Nice “get” though - tough school to get into.

Still nothing in Northern VA although lots of kids in the area have heard. Have to wait a few more days and then if we still don’t have anything they said to call Admissions and they will re-mail.

Does anyone know why the aid was so poor this year? The accepted 765 kids, have one of the largest endowments in the country and yet I haven’t heard a single person say they received a generous FA.

Actually, they admit about 2500 and hope to get 750 to matriculate from that… but it doesn’t answer your question. Better aid = better yield. They’ve been pretty weak.

What do you think my chances are at getting in if I have been waitlisted? On one hand I don’t want to hold out for something that isn’t going to happen, and on the other I don’t want to give up if there is still a good chance I could be admitted.

Do you need FA? most schools don’t offer FA to kids coming of the WL. And I don’t know now deep UR’s WL is…

I don’t need financial aid though. Will they take that into account?

Maybe - although, ifany kids accepted a spot on the WL, they don’t either… good luck!

UR is need blind during admissions, but not so when admitting off the WL. RA, that should help you.

Thank you!

I got accepted, but I haven’t received my financial aid packet yet.
I am slightly worried about how much they will give me.
Does anyone know what the average amount of grants and loans they give out for a middle-class student?

Our financial aide info came in same fed ex envelope. It was basically next to nothing. It was a separate envelope, are you sure you didn’t over look it?

I’m from southern california and my aid was EXTREMELY generous. I received $47,550 in grants and ultimately, I only have to pay off $8,520 in loans. My parents and I are more than happy with the amount of FA we received!

I’m got in and I got good financial aid, but Dartmouth gave me a free tuition, so ultimately I think I’m going to go to Dartmouth. congrats to those who got in, and good luck to those asking for more aid / on the waitlist!

*I… wow that is just embarrassing…haha

@giterdone - I think you are wrong. I am not in the admissions or FA office but I don’t think WL affects their 100% of demonstrated need policy. If you think otherwise, where did you get your information?
