RD or ED?

Does ED increase your chances?

There are tons of threads on this question.
The official answer is “NO.”
My view is: it depends. If you would not be deemed a strong candidate RD then you won’t get in ED either. On the other hand, if you would be deemed a strong RD applicant but might fall into that large group of applicants competing for a very limited number of spaces - many of whom simply have to be rejected because or WLed of the lack of room - the fact that you’ve committed to going if accepted (by virtue of having applied ED) is a compelling demonstration of interest in Tufts which could boost your chances.

I agree with WCASParent.
Go ahead and apply ED if it is in fact your first choice. It can’t hurt, and you won’t have to compete against lots of people in RD who apply just for the sake of applying, even though they’re more interested in other schools
