Will my GPA be too much of a deterrence? Is the rumor true that if you have a 3.7 or above, colleges won't focus too much on the numbers and instead look more at your classes?

Since most of my schools are reaches/very low matches, should I have more safeties or high matches? Is my list of schools too "risky"?

Any advice to help me narrow down this ridiculous list? What's a good number to apply to?

Chance me maybe?

Thanks to any and all commenters!! :)

Also, ultra-competitive high school.

I think it’s mostly class rank > GPA in your situation. High schools tend to inflate GPA, so you’ll be competing against “many perfect GPAs”. However, having a high class rank might indicate that you stood out in YOUR particular environment. It might not mean much, but it can help when it comes to the little details.

Tests and ECs are pretty good. keep in mind, the talent pool becomes extremely competitive every year. It wouldn’t hurt to have a few safeties. Most of it is luck to be honest.

Good luck!
