READ THIS!!! It's not paradise afterall....

I am very liberal... I think the Bush administration is failing in helping our poor and lower-class, and that disgusts me. But, I have a fatal flaw, and I will admit it, although I am ashamed to; that when anything involves me persoanly (for the most part.. I would not mind paying higher taxes, but something like this is more serious), I always look out for number 1.

See, I'm a masochist. And I'm lower middle class (my mom makes 50k/yr...you decide. in WI that's lower middle) But I have a huge bias/bitterness against rich people, so that clouds my judgment. Sorry.

well i respect Machiavelli for his political genius and i can see how you relate his ideas to yourself personally.

Edit:
lol ok so you're a democrat only when it's convenient?

Well I don't have any bitterness twards the middle class or lower, I was a member of the lower end of the middle class for almost half my life. Which is why I am a democrat. But, as I said, I have a fatal flaw. Now I don't want to mention how much my family makes (although its public information) but I would probobly say that I am middle-upper or upper class, but I never forget my middle class roots. I have raised thousands of dollars for charities that help the lower class, and I voulenteer a lot.

No... the only thing that changes my mind is when the college process is involved, otherwise, I am always a democrat. As I said, I would not mind to pay more taxes.

i don't believe it.....my family's been having financial trouble lately.......even if i get in, it would take me forever to pay back loans if Columbia's that stingy!!

alright i'll believe that you're just a guy who really really really wants to go to columbia rather than someone who wants to disadvantage the poor. =) ok?

Yeah... as I said... if I worked for Columbia, I would also have it need blind.

i wasn't sure if you meant college process for yourself only or in general.

but whatever, lets get back to the original topic about the monkeys. that's wrong but then i'm sure every school has its skeletons. and maybe if enough people show outrage (CU students are known for being good protesters right?) then they'll stop.

True... what I am happy about is that this article does not say the quality of life and education is bad at Columbia.. which are the two things I care about most.

hooray for occupying administration buildings!!!

I'm bringing the Sixties back...anyone with me?....anyone?...where are you taking me?....

lol... Columbia has some very cool and interesting history.

lol yeah. as soon as we get accepted lets plan a protest since it'll officially be our university hehe

good plan. I agree with that.. Protesting is fun anyways.

Protesting is fun, unless you are blocking traffic (as in laying in the street). I am vary against the war, but I was so close to running over those damn anti-war protestors who were making my commute to where I worked in NYC a real pain in the ass. Other than that, protesting kicks ass.

Yeah, when I lived in LA I stopped to talk to some Marxists that were protesting the war. They were basically pouring **** all over people in the armed forces (for the record I'm viciously anti-war, anti-imperialist, anti-support-the-troops-********). I said to them, "Don't you know that no important revolution has ever been successful without the support of the army? Don't you know that people in the army did not expect to be sent into action, they're just proletarians with no other opportunities?" So then, having no valid arguments, they called me a racist.

God, I hate LA.

You are against supporting the troops?

I am pro supporting troops on the individual level, i.e. not sending them to die. I am against the rhetoric used to justify invading and staying in Iraq.

Same here... But I do think that, now that we are there, we need to stay.
