<p>We have a bomb threat tomorrow. Someone wrote “Bomb 5/19” in the bathroom. You can pretty much skip school if you want, but its also the day where senior scholarships get recognized (ridiculously long ceremony). So I feel bad, because I’m not concerned at all for my safety but I want to skip, and I feel bad because I wont watch my peers get recognized.
And…I’m probably the only person that feels this way, but we only have like 5 days left of high school. I feel bad missing one of the final days…then again NO ONE is going tomorrow</p>

<p>There have been numerous bomb threats at my middle and high school to the point where the administrators don’t even take action anymore.</p>

<p>Nothing intense as that, but a few years ago on exam day some kid put a bomb threat on a bathroom mirror so that exams could be postponed, and he could have more study time lol. I think the dude got expelled.</p>

<p>Last year (well, two years ago now? I don’t know anymore), a kid brought a gun to our school. He didn’t do anything with it though, and I don’t think he planned to. His mom called the school and told them he had it, they found it and took it from him.</p>

<p>last year, three kids OD’ed at my school, we were in lockdown for a LONG time, the kids had to be rushed to the ER and almost died. Another time, the cops arrested people from another school a few miles away that were coming over to do a drug deal… then this year, a kid allegedly had a “hit list”, and was planning to shoot some people during lunch. what made me angry was that we found out about this after it would have occured… i’m kind of angry that the administration wasn’t put into lockdown. this year, a school in my county was vandalized in the middle of the night with empty bomb threats.</p>

<p>the things is, i live in a nice suburban area. my school is very nice, but some of the people just have too much money and don’t know what to do with it (drugs), or think they are “cool” by being rebelious. meh.</p>

<p>My middle school was kind of… not good… They had 11 bomb threats in one year, and one time the cops chased a suspect right through the soccer fields.</p>

<p>On a bathroom stall a week or so ago, someone wrote, “I kill Marquette 5/10/10.” From what I heard from a nurse, about 700 students were absent that Monday in a school of 2,300 students. Nothing happened, though they did bring in a few extra cops at the beginning of the day to look over the school. They were able to catch who wrote it after watching surveillence tapes and getting some testimonies from those who went to the bathroom the day it was discovered. The people who skipped were mostly not afraid, but they had a legitimate excuse for being absent, due to safety ‘concerns’.</p>
