Realistic to transfer to Boston College?

HOW TO TRANFER TO BC BASED ON WHERE IM AT NOW! Brutally honest!
I graduated HS in 2016 and just now took the act to go so Kennesaw State university this fall (2018). It was last minute and completely bombed the test.
-HS GPA: 3.94 (no ap or honors classes)
-ACT: composite 22 ( English: 23 math: 22 reading 17 science 25)

  • I did like over 300 hours of community service throughout HS and was in golf club at one point
-My dad graduated from BC and I think he used to donate money years ago
-I would apply as a Hispanic and I’m female

HONEST OPINON PLEASE! I would probably want to transfer after 2 years at KSU. I’m planning on political science. What would I have to do to have a good shot of getting into BC at this point? Is it even realistic based on my hs record?

Earn a very high GPA at Kennesaw State.

But, more importantly, why BC ?

How many clubs would you reccomend? Should I be extra involved or just involved?
BC is just everything I’m looking for. Catholic college, great political science program, and the location (I’m really looking to ultimately be up north because that’s where I’ve always wanted to be, and all my family lives there). And more importantly my dad went there and most of my family pictures involve us wearing BC sweatshirts XD I’ve been really having my eye on it

Clubs and ECs are secondary to earning a high GPA. Only participate in a club or activity about which you are truly interested.

Familiarize yourself with BC’s academic requirements for transfer students. Contact BC’s admissions office & briefly share with them your plans & ask for advice regarding requirements.

Also, Holy Cross might be another college for you to consider.

This is what BC wants to see in a transfer applicant:

So you will need a high college GPA. Furthermore, you will probably have to retake the ACT at some point and get a much higher score, unless you are prepared to wait for 5 years before applying. The typical ACT range for BC freshmen in Fall 2017 was 31-33.

For Fall 2017, BC accepted 230 of 1,384 transfer applicants, which is an acceptance rate of 17%. It may be harder to get into BC as a transfer than as a freshman, since the freshman acceptance rate was 32%.

2018 acceptance rate was 26% for new class.
