Realistically do I have a chance at top school?

Hello!
I’m currently a junior student in high school. My school is known for its rigorous curriculum and high grading scale. One of the top (public) schools in the state.

Freshman year I took 2 regular and 3 honors classes. I earned mostly A’s and A-'s maybe a few B+'s.
Sophomore year I took all honors classes and received all A’s and A-'s.
Junior year (this year) I am in 4 AP classes and 2 dual enrollments. I have one or two A-'s every quarter, many B+'s and sometimes one B.

Every quarter so far I’ve received over a 4.0 (usually a 4.2), except for this quarter. Due to my B- in AP Chemistry, I now have a weighted 3.9. Goodbye highest honors with distinction. =(

I took the old SAT and did really badly (an 1800). I’m taking the new one in May and the ACT probably in June. I also need to take the subject tests.

I am in 2 varsity sports - rowing and tennis. I potentially could received a rowing scholarship. I am a published author for a single novel. I am the captain of my reading competition team and the founder of my school’s UNICEF branch in addition to the normal stuff like NHS and Science NHS. Also I have competed on a FIRST Robotics team as a programmer. I love literature and also robotics, so I’m still debating my potential major.

So my question is do you think I have a chance despite some of my weak points at a top school? I’m applying to some back up universities like Penn State but have some reaches like University of Pennsylvania, Northwestern, and Carnegie Mellon.

Thanks for taking the time to read and (hopefully) respond.

You’ve got a LOT going for you! My advice is to retake the SATs and use your ED options appropriately. NU, for example, took half of its freshman class through ED this year.

I think you def have a chance just improve those test scores and really try to shine through your essay. Also maybe try taking more rigorous classes senior year? (more APs if you can balance the workload).

Chance me back?:
