Really worried about college, need some advice please

Hey guys I go to a very strong public school and considering the following information I wanted to hear what others have to say about my odds of getting into certain schools.
Have taken honors classes Fresh+Soph year as well as advanced math (hardest possible schedule) and had around a 3.5 gpa those two years.
I am a junior currently and am taking:
Advanced Precalculus grade so far: B
AP Chemistry grade so far: A-
Honors Biology grade so far: A-
Honors American History grade so far: A-
Honors Spanish grade so far: A
Honors American Literature grade so far: B

Senior year I will be taking:
AP BC Calculus
AP Biology
Engineering (honors class)
Honors Spanish
Public speaking

I took the SAT once so far and got a score of 1930.
750 Math (only 1 question wrong, brutal curve)
630 Critical Reading
550 Writing (hoping to get this up to 650ish)

I know my SAT is a tad low, but I am not the best at English. If I manage a 2000, and taken the classes I listed above, what types of schools would be in my range?

I haven’t looked at too many school so far, but some ideas are:
Safety: UMass amherst, UConn
Match: Northeastern, Tufts (?), NYU
Reach: Columbia, Cornell, Harvard

If not these schools, which schools would be in my score/gpa range?

Note: Many students in my school get into Harvard, Yale, Wesleyan, Brown, Cornell etc. so that shows how my school is definitely rigorous

Thanks so much

I would say your list of schools is pretty accurate, but I’d put Tufts as a reach, and Columbia and Harvard as high reaches.

I would put Tufts and NYU as high matches to low reaches. All Ivies as high reaches

if you study really hard and improve your critical reading score significantly and your writing up a bit (writing is not as important), than you have a shot at those schools listed as reaches. Nyu and northeastern are definite matches/safeties in my opinion for you. maybe think about adding boston college to your list also?

With your SAT score, NYU and Northeastern are reaches.

I don’t know much about your school and how hard it is to get good grades but if I were you I wouldn’t bother with Harvard, Cornell, and Columbia considering your test scores and grades. Maybe look at like BC or Colgate.

Considering I would get it up to at least a 2050, which is very doable with a writing score of 650, that would make it more of a match…no? I also hear of kids from school going to Northeastern with SAT scores in the 1700s so everything is just confusing me big time.

No one goes to Northeastern with a 1700

The mid 50% SAT at Northeastern for enrolled freshmen was 2020-2190 in 2014, A 1700 would make NU a reach even for a recruited athlete.

I think that your reach schools are very iffy. USually kids that go to those schools have A’s in everything and a 4.0 and 36 ACT etc. However, the other options are safe bets, I would say. Good luck!

Chance me for UW Madison please!

Your list of matches doesn’t seem to fit your scores, so they look like reaches to me.
