Reapplying in ED after being rejected.

I'm an international student who didn't get into Swarthmore last year. I opted for a gap-year and will be applying again this year. Considering Swarthmore as the college to apply to for ED, I was wondering if I could get a broadened perspective on how I would fare the second time. I have a pretty decent profile, and actually got into Cornell last year (money matters interceded though). So, what is everyone's input on a "rejectee" applying for ED?

Help? Anyone?

i think how you spent your gap year is important. . . also, the fact that you got into cornell shows that you are a viable candidate for top colleges and universities. however, swarthmore probably won’t offer much more money than cornell, especially to international applicants.

I’d say that this may be a little off.

Cornell, while need-blind, aren’t committed to meeting the full need of their accepted international applicants. Swarthmore, from what I remember, are. If accepted, one will receive financial aid. It makes little sense to accept someone who wouldn’t be able to afford to attend, no? (unless they can somehow get some last minute scholarship money/funding?)
