rec letter from a prof that I know for 3 weeks

<p>Ok maybe not 3 weeks. I met this professor this term and talked with him a bit and we know each other (its a long story from about student job blabla)</p>

<p>ok anyways I'm taking a course with him during winter 2011 and there is a scholarship app that is due january 21. Is it ok to ask him to write a rec letter for me for that scholarship or is it not ok since he technically only "knew" me for the 3 weeks of class up to the deadline?</p>

<p>The question is: do you have anyone better to ask? Of course you can ask that professor but he probably won’t give the kind of personal recommendation that will land you a good scholarship.</p>

<p>You shouldn’t ask him. He needs at least three weeks notice for a letter and at that point he won’t know you at all.</p>
