My hs senior daughter took one 3 credit class at the local university for dual enrollment. I was surprised to receive a 1098T from them for the amount paid. Does that mean I can deduct this expense and take the tuition and fees deduction?
Yes, probably, if you meet the income requirements. The Lifetime Learning Credit is the one we used when our kids took concurrent enrollment, I think (it’s been 5+ years). Check the rules for the LLC and the tuition and fees deduction to see which you qualify for, and which saves you the most.
IRS Pub.970 is your friend - spells it all out.
