Recommendation Letter?

So I’ve been told that people from my school don’t apply to MIT. I don’t have a math/science teacher willing to write a recommendation. I’m not a bad student..? I was hoping my physics teacher would. I have a 4.0 and put a lot of time into that class- it’s a college class…but yeah. Apparently that’d be a waste of my time, his time, and the admissions people’s time.

Any ideas?

-student that thinks they at least deserve a chance =)

apply! yeah, you might lose time. but it is better than not trying at all–that will leave you regretting everything.

I’m applying.

I guess I could ask a teacher from my first year of high school…I went to high school for a year before going to the local college. I don’t know what I’m suppose to tell my teacher. I can be doing so much and he tells me that he can’t write a good recommendation because I’m “just not all-together academically ready for ‘higher’ education”…which is kinda silly considering I attend a college. but whatever.

Perhaps he is right though? I doubt very many people have had a teacher flat out refuse to right a recommendation…? I don’t really think a recommendation from a high school teacher would be very good. I’ve tried that before. lol although it was positive it was absolutely terrible.

Don’t give up and don’t be discouraged. If you want to apply, then go for it.
