I was recently admitted under the Computer Science major in the Donald Bren School of Information and Computer Sciences. I was planning on purchasing a Macbook Pro over the summer to prepare for college, but I’m not sure if the laptop would be compatible with applications required for Computer Science classes.
Anyone from UCI taking Computer Science can answer this for me please?
Hey there, so my brother goes to UCI as a computer game science major and in his ICS class they work in Python so anything compatible with that will wor. In his lab I believe they have computers there for you to use? Dont take my word for that though. Luckily most higher end programs that are compatible with Python work for both Windows and Apple/Mac. (I’m a Windows guy myself so I’d recommend getting something that runs on Windows unless you’re more than proficient with Macs)
