Recommended Reading List for SAT

Hey!

I am currently in Grade 10, and will be taking the PSAT on the 14th! I got a 1190 on my PSAT last year for which i was pretty happy about. Albeit, since i am aiming for the US (and hopefully be competitive for some good schools), I really need to devote some time for the SAT.

My main weakness overall is Reading. I am not an avid reader, and only read very occasionally since I can’t find the time. I have made it my goal to read at least a chapter a day (depending on how long a chapter is).

If i am not mistaken, the New SAT Reading consists of: Science, Literature, History and Social Science.

Science is probably my biggest concern. I am a v.good science student (Physics, Chem) but most of the times they add obscure scientific words for which there is no explanation on the sheet itself, and i am supposed to link them with other obscure words, in order to understand the passage. I find this super hard. If the topic is something i like (or something i have studied), then i would be happy reading it. But i really don’t want to rest my SAT score on the hope of a getting a topic which i like. If there are any books related to this, i would be very, very grateful of you.

Literature - I am OK with. Although the passages normally start off from somewhere in the middle of the book, I can slowly pick up, which is good. I got a list of Literature books from: https://www.richland2.org/rnh/Documents/College%20Board%20Recommended%20books.pdf - although if you happen to know a condensed, better list then please do tell me.

History - I love reading about history. However, i can’t seem to find SAT type History books (not sure if that’s a thing). If it’s possible to recommend some that would be awesome!

Social Science - Although sometimes obscure, i like reading about it. I read some books regarding this, but not an awful lot. Again if you happen to know any books related, then i would really appreciate it!

Thank you so much (in advance)!

Moreover, can anyone recommend any article websites which i can probably read on a daily basis? I

I just saw a very good reading list on the IvyGlobal website - you might try that list. http://downloads.ivyglobal.com/sat/practice/New_SAT_Reading_List.pdf

@CValle Wow that site is AMAZING! Thank you so much!
