My son is interested in applying to the Jacobs Recording Arts program and looking at the requirements for the BS program it includes a "Portfolio" in order to be reviewed. Unfortunately there are minimal local opportunities to accumulate a recording portfolio of any real consequence. Is there anybody here (current student, alum, etc) who could give me an idea of what kind of materials and approximate volume the admissions committee might be looking for?

Another option would be to be admitted through the regular University program and attempt to build on portfolio through the on campus resources for a second year admission to the BS program or alternately apply for the A.S. degree while getting a BA/BS from Kelley or the College of Arts and Sciences.

Any opinions, advice, or alternatives would be greatly appreciated.
