Does anyone know if a spoken introduction of the songs is necessary/required on the recording that is turned in at Unifieds? Thanks!

Hm, good question! My D handed in a recording of her songs last year (she auditioned off site in Virginia/DC) and did not include a spoken intro. She got in shortly after her audition, so I don't think it is a make-or-break situation.

Thanks NMR - Just when I think I've covered every detail, another one pops into my head. I did get the answer from someone who was just at NY Unifieds: Record the two songs exactly as done at the audition and write your name, name of songs, date and place of audition on the CD. It is forwarded to the head of the Vocal department if there are any questions regarding the applicant. Good luck to everyone!

Glad you got the answer, melsmom09! My D did hardly any of what you said (she just recorded the same cuts of the same songs she did at the audition) and put her name on the CD and gave it to the person at the table before she went into the audition. I guess you are sending the CD after the fact, so it makes sense to label it thusly.

Actually, our L.A. Unifieds are next weekend, so my D will be handing it in at check in as well. Just wanted to be sure we covered all bases! Auditions 3,4 and 5 coming up!
