Recruited athlete slots

Now, JAMee Mammy, your nose is growing

…While understandable, I am duly impressed and flattered that you follow so carefully and even attempt to quote my posts, but once again, I’m afraid you’ve either misinterpreted or failed to read carefully. What “record” have I gone on??? As you note that I noted earlier and repeat here …there is NO SUCH THNG as an “Athletic LOA”. And I stand by that.

There is only one type of LOA. At least at USNA …not sure what your WP girls do. But the LOA comes in only one size, shape, brand. An LOA.

Now, everyone knows these are awarded for various reasons, including academic, various “needs of the Navy” (read special target groups given special dispensation …like athletes), and of course, athletics.

But there is no such thing as an “Athletic LOA.” Conversely, there are recruited athletes who receive an LOA. Say what you mean. Mean what you say.

As for discerning between opinion and information, I’m fully confident that folks can and do discern in most posts. But as you’ve often noted, in the end, any and all information shared on this forum sould be treated as opinion by any “reasonable” person" with its credibility and reliability dependent solely upon the readers’ judgement. I’m fully confident of readers’ capacity to discern facts from fiction. And distortions. No need to cheerlead or brown nose those you might be attempting to woo or persuade of your credibility.

In any case, many thanks for your opining and careful following of my posts. You’re on the right track, JAM, just boarded the wrong train on this one, again.

btw, have you been to the Yard lately to cheer your Army gal? Don’t know if you’ve ever been to the Yard, but the flowers are absolutely gorgeous this time of year. You should plan a trip. Maybe visit next year and see if you can ferret out who you think I’ve noted? Or maybe come down for the presentation of the Chief’s Trophy, going to our boys in white …again! Go NAVY! Whoop the WooPs! :p

That is why I choose my wording carefully. “Not necessarily true,” means that there are some exceptions to the norm; meaning that some candidates receive LOAs for other reason than grades – such as sports, diversity goals, class shaping, etc (as WP has pointed out).

Unless you are on the admissions board or personally have been through USNA, using terms that solidify what you THINK is correct is strictly an opinion. I am normally pretty careful how I word my posts.

sorry jadler. when you said “WP, concur, out”; I took that to mean you were in full agreement of his entire post.

I won’t quibble with this at all. This doesn’t mean they don’t have “good grades”. which is what KMKKS40 said.

take your own advice, good buddy  OTOH - take the advice in post #38

i think this thread has again degenerated into this:
