@eebee88 same haha my stats are average for Reed but my interview and essay were pretty great tbh so hopefully that helps
@BlackMagic81 yeah I think my essays were the strongest aspect of my application, but I didn’t interview or visit and I feel like that might kill me in terms of demonstrated interest (the days interviews were available in my area, I had school obligations)

@BlackMagic81 my main common app essay was on feminism/Sleater-Kinney/riot grrl and my Paideia essay was on the application of mathematical theorems and scientific principles on television and film
@eebee88 ayy another math person! You common app essays sounds interesting. Mine was on a combination of math and chess and Paideia was on black philosophers and Afropessimism.
@BlackMagic81 so do yours!! and yes, math is pretty awesome even tho it can kick my butt sometimes (like during the unit in calculus w/ cylindrical shells ugh)

Also I am seeing calculus-related words and I can feel my stress levels going through the roof. Science fan, but finding abstract Taylor and Maclaurin polynomials is not great for me. (Taylor and Maclaurin were 3 weeks ago but tbh I don’t even remember what they are now. Calc AB was so much better.)
Lol ya probably could’ve guessed I want to be a math major. Calc words are the only thing that relax me. That and puppy pictures

I’m not really good about being patient, and thus I started looking for a way to get notified of new FedEx shipments to my location.
I think this may do the trick…
If you don’t have one already you may want to consider signing up for a FedEx account (it’s free to do so) and use the FedEx Delivery Manager to track inbound deliveries http://www.fedex.com/us/delivery/ .
Once you have your account you can add different first names or variations to your name to your account so that all packages coming to your address with different first names will receive notification.
If it works as it should you will receive updates when packages are being shipped to your address - eliminating the ‘surprise’ factor a bit, so use it only if you want to spoil the surprise.
Obviously if you have an inbound package from Oregon and you weren’t expecting it… you probably have a nice surprise coming.

Any idea when the ED1&2 International applicants received their emails portland time?
@Sherruby I’m guessing they don’t mail things until about 9 am CST, which is still about 4 hours away, and then there may be another few hours before the information is entered into the system.
I’d love to be a part of the newly forming CompSci department, but biology and physics interest me just as much. We’ll find out niche once we’re there 
I wrote my essay on the importance of learning how to teach and how an effective teaching method and demenaor can change it all. I tied it in with the idea of Paideia- which is basically all of us being teachers, albeit briefly.
According to a friend of mine, an ED accepted international, you should expect to receive them in the evening.
And aw much as I want to know my decisions as soon as possible, I’m going to bear the wait hahah
