Reed College | Class of 2020 RD | Results & Discussion

@usualhopeful Nothing on mine either. I am also expecting the letter to arrive next week. @International95, I am glad you did not have to go through this. I do not know of any other college who does this crazy method of sending boxes with books and banners. It feels wrong to not notify everyone at once and I’m not sure what the point is. Maybe I should be glad that I’m not going to be going to a college that believes this nonsense is necessary! Take care everyone!

Oh and with the delivery date, I am in So California. And it looks like it was not added to the tracker until just now. It says it left FedEx yesterday.

For everyone concerned they can’t find anything on their account:
According to their FAQ, the FedEx delivery manager will not show any package that has been approved/scanned/put into their system before your account was made. If you made an account after 9pm PST on April 1, it probably won’t show up.

If there’s an issue with the FedEx and I am actually admitted (which is unlikely anyway, it was a reach to begin with), I will be very happy but also very annoyed with Reed. I already made plans to visit UAlabama, and I had to book later than intended because the dates I wanted to visit had gone up significantly in price while waiting for a Reed decision. If we cancel, we don’t get an airline refund in cash, just credit. The boxes sound great, but it doesn’t make up for the issues caused by this method of notification.

Hello guys,
My tracking dealie only just showed up in fedex today and it says I have a package bound for me. Seems rather silly that I wouldn’t have recieved it yet considering I live only a few miles from Reed. Just praying for the financial aid now.

@pobednik191 Awesome! Yeah I was accepted. What about you?

I agree @usualhopeful. It’s quaint, but super frustrating logistically and financially. My kid has a number of options to consider, and fitting them together is like doing a four-dimensional puzzle. With this important puzzle piece missing, it’s all the more complicated, and affects not just the acquisition and pricing of a flight to Oregon but that of at least one other possible trip. I’m sure there are plenty of other ways they can maintain their unique approach to education without holding fast to this inconvenient tradition. They could STILL send the boxes … just not hold out on online notification.

Time to check my parent’s fed ex accounts xD I just made one yesterday so if the box won’t show up because of the date I made the account, it only makes sense to use their old account

@fencingchick Yh. I also got in. can u help me log in to the banner site. I cant figure out hw.

@pobednik191

Here is a link for the site: http://www.reed.edu/financialaid/banner.html

This is what it says about logging in: If you have submitted a financial aid application in prior years or if you submit any part of a 2015-16 financial aid application, we will send an email with a PIN to your reed.edu address. You will use this PIN, in conjunction with your Reed College Student ID number, to access Reed College Self-Service. In the (hopefully near) future, this self-service tool will be integrated with IRIS. Until that time, however, you will need to follow a separate log-in procedure. If you forget your PIN, email financial.aid@reed.edu.

Thanks a lot

I really hope the delivery manager is just wrong for me

@BlackMagic81 If you just made it, it won’t work as it needs to have been made before April 1 at some time in the afternoon :stuck_out_tongue:

@jackisawesome nah I had made the account prior to April 1st

That’s incorrect. I made it for my daughter on April 1 at about 1030pm PST and she got the notification.

@khanam It won’t show up on FedEx Insight; However, It will show up on Delivery Manager

Did all internationals on this thread receive an email? I am an international and I did not!!

@DVDplayer many, many still haven’t. Idk whats wrong.

Monday, April 4. Still no email from Reed. Who would have known it’d this hard to send an email?

I totally agree. This is seriously getting too much. Do you think we should contact the admission office? Has anyone already done that?
