I applied for early decision, and was told that my application consideration would be postponed and considered for regular decision. The letter also said I could submit supplementary materials (another rec letter, new test scores, etc.) if I wanted. Should I do that?
What are my chances of actually getting admitted?
ACT: 31
GPA: 3.2 UW, 4.2 W
I did the interview, visit, and used common app
Chicago (Lane Tech high school-- considered “inner-city”) from middle class family; income is roughly 70k (divorced parents-- mom has all money, dad has very little income and doesnt pay child support)
Rec letters from 3 teachers and a former boss from the Adler Planetarium
Honestly not much chance unless you’re a minority or have some other special qualities that would add to the diversity at Reed.
filipino-- might help my chances
@averypan98 I would submit supplementary materials. Why not? Worth a shot, right? Also, since many kids from my school or from my friend groups have gotten into Reed, I’ve become familiar with the type of student they most strongly desire. 1. Don’t talk about Steve Jobs 2. Talk about nature and Oregon in any supplementary materials if you want. If they have a suggestion for a portfolio, then do it and show your creative contributions. I hope this helps
