Self explanatory thread. It's open to bias and arbitratiom. Which would you choose and why?

What is the net cost for each?

Colgate and Reed appeal to entirely different types of students. Colgate is located at the edge of a small town in rural upstate NY. It’s big on sports. Indeed, there are quite a few recruited athletes at Colgate because it is an NCAA Division I member, where most schools its size are Division III. There is also a fair amount of intramural sports at Colgate. Colgate is probably the better choice for those who do not want to go to grad school and who definitely want to work immediately after graduation, especially in NYC. There are fraternities at Colgate, and drinking is popular on weekends.

Reed is situated in a residential area of mid-sized city, and the downtown area is easily accessible by bus. The focus at Reed is on the academics. The college appeals largely to students who are interested in going to graduate school or professional school after college. There are many departments that are unusually strong for a college of Reed’s size. Reed has a very high Ph.D. productivity for all academic disciplines. The programs attended by graduates are mostly of high caliber [REED COLLEGE LIFE AFTER REED](Life After Reed - Institutional Research - Reed College). Some consider Reed to be prep school for those who want to do graduate work. There are no intercollegiate sports or frats at Reed.

What does OP plan on studying in college and doing in life? Which type of environment would OP prefer for four years?

I got accepted on round about the same financial aid at both so cost isn’t a problem as the costs of each college aren’t marginally different. I’m just trying to get some critique and formulate where I’d fit in.

"…and formulate where I’d fit in."-----At liberal-minded and left-leaning LAC’s you just come as you are, and you’ll fit in.
