Regarding website as my cc

Hello,

I REALLY want to get in to CMU as a computer science major student. I want to make a little different CC to impress the admission, so i want to start an online website.

Does CMU CS care about online website at all ??
If I put that on my application, would they actually go on my website and check??
Do i have to be REALLY SUCCESSFUL with my website?

I doubt they would care about your website unless it’s really successful. I’d imagine they’ve seen much more impressive things from applicants than a website.

Depends on what you’re doing with the website. If you use your site to publish student articles or provide weekly lectures (a la Donny Lee’s gaussianmath.com), your website could be a useful EC and, more importantly, a good topic for a college essay. If you’re just writing a blog however, college adcoms won’t really care about it.

If you enjoy building websites, you should probably start (or join) a website design business.

I don’t understand. Aren’t decisions due in about 2 weeks?

I’m pretty sure the OP isn’t a senior awaiting decisions.
