Has anyone who applied regular decision heard from K? When do/did those decisions come?

DS got an early letter a few weeks ago. The big packet hasn't come yet, so I don't think that the bulk of decisions has been sent.

applied last possible day. Nothing yet.

Good luck, rgegye. K is generous with grants, so I hope you get in and get big merit money.

My dad was talking to the financial aid department on Thursday, and they told him that they were mailing out decisions yesterday(Friday). So we should be getting decisions sometime this coming week :)

so they didnt send email to each candidate? Im international student and it must be horrible waiting for weeks to receive a snail mail

They definitely didn't send email for the early action people.

Okay, my dad was right. They did mail out decisions on Friday..

I got in!! :D with a $48,000 presidential scholarship. This certainly complicates things.. I was set on Umich but now I'm not sure! And I did like how the personalized my admission letter--they had quotes from the rec letter my teacher wrote, and talked about my essay. Michigan definitely didn't do that! I'm impressed.

Congrats pseudovirus! That same scholarship with the awesome letter was a factor in my S choosing K over UMich (well, and the size, the atmosphere, the study abroad, etc...).

We live about an hour away from K and my S applied EA. His letter was also hand delivered by the admissions counselor to his high school. That to us said a lot about what kind of school it is. We have not been disappointed!

Pseudovirus, it's my impression (and maybe bbkitty can back me up) that the personal letter is representative of the personal education you'd get at K. Your professors would know you. Even your first year classes would be small.

Do you know what you'd be majoring in?

I'm pretty that I will major in polysci.

S received the same type of personalized admissions letter and scholarship. This is by far the most impressive acceptance material he has received. He is intent now on studying engineering, so likely won't attend, but I will admit that the acceptance letter has made him/us pause to consider. Wow!

Advantages for Michigan

*Bigger course selection
*More professors
*People have heard of Michigan
*Great sports teams

Advantages for K:

At K, virtually everyone goes abroad and K operates their own study abroad programs, so you *would go abroad and it wouldn't be that much hassle to arrange

*At K, everyone does a senior capstone project (a thesis or something comparably difficult) so you would too

*Smaller classes
*campus is beautiful
*No long walks to class in the snow
*Your professors will know you
*LandSea

Another pro AND con of K compared with U of M is the quarter system. You change classes three times a year instead of having just the two semesters. It goes quicker but is more intense. You take 3-4 at a time and only have to concentrate on those classes. It does, however, make their school year start and end a month later than most schools.

The personal education is incredible there. On move-in day for freshmen, they have an beautiful convocation that ends the day. At family weekend, the President personally introduced herself to my young daughter and welcomed us there. Getting an issue handled doesn't take an "act of congress" and require lots of channels-ALL faculty and staff make themselves available.

Can you tell I'm a fan?

I am an international.
Well, it seems that I need to wait for the snail mail to know my admission decision.!!
grhhhhh

Can anyone tell me about the international aid in Kzoo??

I'm an intl student too.

Does Kzoo inform intl students via email? The snail mail may take nearly a month from US to my country!
