Regular Decision Thread

D just got her acceptance and a Presidential Scholarship! Good luck everybody!

I think you just get a letter....i got my letter today (waitlist).

ugh, still nothing here in FL

Would anyone waiting to hear care to post their stats? Thanks

My son was accepted but I don't know his exact stats.

SAT was 1280/1600
GPA about 93 UW
He took just about the maximum number of honors and AP courses.
Not many extracurriculars.
He felt his interview went really well.

I'm homeschooled, with many great programs and outside recommendations to back me up. I don't really have any stats per se, but I've been involved in advanced science and literary environments and have gone through some special circumstances with my family. Union has been very nice to me, I've been very anxious to hear back positively.

If I had to have stats:
SAT: 1280 (640/640)
GPA: 3.8-ish maybe? All A's and high B's given to me from outside sources.

Extras:
Jr. Crew Team, 5 seat.
Steady job for over a year as retail/computer technician.
Took and did well in courses from the local state university as a "special student".

I made it in somehow. :p

Stats:
GPA: 4.2 weighted
SATs: 1420 (2200 with writing)
EC's: Band, band, and more band stuff :p, some sports thrown in there too along the way, few actual leadership roles though
Visited campus twice (jump start junior's day & interview)

I'm leaning toward not going here; it is a great school though. I'm just not so sure how well I would fit in the social scene. Congratulations and good luck to all.

Congrats! For anyone who already got their letter, when was it post marked and was it send express or anything? I'm in Florida and really curious/anxious as to when I will hear from Union, thanks!

Emp,

My son's FA letter was dated 3/16 and his acceptance letter was dated 3/24. He received the package on 3/24 I don't believe it was sent express mail, but we live only an hour away from Union.

Union would be at the top of my list but unfortunately I am not the one going...

Good luck!!

thanks, joeuhc!

I just got my letter!
stats-
3.37 UW
27 ACT
interview, amazingggg ecs, tons of leadership.
but kinda iffy aid so im sad that I can't even go :(

I just received my letter today to. Waitlisted! kinda sad T__T I d like to go if being taken off the waiting list. Anyways, here's my stats (not that it matters)
GPA: 3.95 (unweighted)
SAT: 1940 (but I chose to ignore my SAT score)
I didnt like my interview. I thought it was the worst out of all the interview I've done with colleges. (Not that the person was bad, it's just that the atmosphere doesnt feel right).

I hope that I stand a chance :( Sad sad.

excuse the bad grammar. I just cant pay attention to anything right now :(

sorry to hear that gazelle... wish you luck...

Gazelle1991: Don't lose heart too quickly, this year it's going to be very difficult for admissions departments to judge how many people will actually attend once they're accepted, so apparently many schools will be using their waitlists more than usual. Also a letter to the admissions dept to let them know that you would go if taken off the waitlist would be a decent idea.

I'm in Oakland but I haven't received any communications yet... Is there anything wrong? :(

@Manwich: Thank you for your suggestion. I did let them know that if being taken off the waitlist, I d definitely go. Any other suggestion of what to do to increase my chance?

Got my letter a few days back...wait listed. =/

They said I can send in a card and some extra recommendation letters for the wait list but i'm considering if the effort will even be worth it at this point.

Oh stats uhh...

SAT 1270/1600

ACT 28

GPA 3.3 UW

AP Chem, AP Bio, AP Physics

H English, H History

Lost of A's senior year and a couple ECs with 40 volunteer hours.

Just received a card addressed to my mother, congratulating her on my acceptance to Union. I never received an acceptance letter, or anything for that matter from Union! Looks like I should probably call admissions hahaha.

^ did you apply??? hahahaa. but yeah, deff call them and see what's going on.
