Well the letter arrived today. Sorry to UR Admissions for being so impatient!! For those of you who haven't yet recieved a letter, I live close to the University so I am just lucky that I got my decision already.

Accepted. :)

Well the letter arrived today. Sorry to UR Admissions for being so impatient!! For those of you who haven't yet recieved a letter, I live close to the University so I am just lucky that I got my decision already.

Accepted. :)

i have a feeling that means they are sending acceptences first then rejecton, great....i havent recieved anything

^ You're worrying for no reason. Those who have received a reply are either internationals or living close to the uni like Dramageek. If you still haven't gotten anything by Friday, then you can worry. ;)

I've already said this in the other thread, but I also go accepted but with no financial aid, so I probably won't be going :(

Dramageek: Will you be going to Richmond?

Congrats dramageek! Would you mind posting your stats?

Richmond is my first choice and I will definitely attend this fall as long I can get a loan to pay for the gap between the financial aid award and the cost of attendance. I don't want to give anyone false hope by posting stats because I think admission decisions are so holistic and the essays are vital.

If you're wondering about the actual envelope- mine arrived in a blue USPS priority mail envelope with a folder that includes both the admission information and an envelope with financial aid information. It's just awesome.

Happy Day Dramageek!!! I'm really happy for you and glad to know you are a neighbor. I hope I'll meet you sometime this spring on campus!

UR Admissions

D got her acceptance today. She's very happy, but hasn't decided where Richmond ranks in her list of accepted schools. She's still got a month!

My S received his acceptance today by USPS Priority Mail! We live in Westchester County, NY. Good luck to everyone!!

Thanks so much to UR Admissions for posting accurate info., it is most appreciated. You really have your act together more so than most schools! Hope to meet you on campus soon!

i got my acceptance today in ct

congrats to all those accepted and good luck to everyone else

I just opened my acceptance letter in MA, it came in a big blue USPS envelope if that has not already been said. How many of you guys are leaning towards richmond?

i was also accepted today but probably won't be attending.
good luck to those who haven't heard yet!

p.s. for those accepted, do you know when we receive fin aid packages?

accepted in CT

My d got her acceptance today and the financial aid award was included. Very disappointing amounts extended so my d will definitely not be attending.

Richmond has surprised me. My d has gotten merit scholarships to schools "higher ranked" than Richmond. Nothing from Richmond. Really don't know what they're looking for. I had heard they were notorious for this and now know that it is true.

Sorry to complain but she did like this school a lot but without merit scholarships their meager financial aid makes this school completely un-attendable for her.

Accepted, but it falls towards the bottom of the pile.

pineapple07, I will say that I too was disappointed that no merit aid was included in d's acceptance. (In fact, no mention was made of financial aid, merit or otherwise, at all.) She too has received merit aid at every other school that has accepted her so far, and her statistics, while not high enough for Richmond Scholars, were well above the 75th percentile, so this was surprising.

i got in, but i dont know how to read the financial aid lol, i dont think i need to pay anything. for total i owe for the year, is -2160. im happy lol

Has anyone received a rejected letter from UR or were they all mailed out today? I didn't receive anything in the mail today and I live in VA about 50 miles from Richmond.

Accepted in NY.
They gave me a really fair financial aid package, but I will still most likely not be attending.

To Prospective Students- I find the University of Richmond financial aid program outstanding. You don't need to listen to anything I am about to say because you should go where you can get all the current, accurate information: http://www.richmond.edu/prospective/financial/

Pineapple07, If you turned in the financial aid package on time, then your demonstrated need should have been met 100%. I don't appreciate your harsh tone. I understand that you are unhappy with your financial aid package but you make it sound like the University of Richmond has a terrible financial aid program. Prospective students for next year who look at this website may get a negative initial impression of the school. If your income is high, then obviously you will have to put forth a particular percentage of that for your daughter's education. You can always get a Direct PLUS Loan that will fill the gap between your financial aid award and the cost of attendance if your current budget doesn't permit you to pay the tuition. The financial aid program at the University of Richmond is incredibly strong and the only reason you would have a significantly better financial aid award from another college is if she earned a merit scholarship or if the school replaces all need-based loans with grants- done at very few schools such as Princeton University. University of Richmond limits their student loans and work study to $4,000 per year. Many schools will meet your demonstrated need by offering you all federal loans plus a private loan so that your debt would be enormous. The fact that she did not receive a merit scholarship only shows the caliber of the students who applied because UR offers numerous scholarships including fifty full-tuition scholarships.

Chevda, There is obviously an error if you applied for financial aid by the deadline and didn't receive an envelope from them in the acceptance package. Also, stats don't guarantee anything or there would not be essays or activities on the application.

Accepted...

still deciding and i need to visit
it is a little far away from home though...
