Rejected everywhere

Hi

I have been rejected everywhere. I don't know what to do now.
Basically I'm an international student, A+, very smart and mature, I can speak 4 different languages and I've lived in 4 countries as well, so I'm very diverse. I'm white (if that means anything )
I need lots of financial aid and this is pretty much why I guess i've been rejected everywhere..
*What can i do now? *

I dont know what to do!
I don't live in my country, and I haven't for the past 12 years. Here universities are 20k a year and it's not even worth it.
WHAt can I do??
Any advice would be welcome !!

I got 15 rejection, 1 waitlisted and 2 without any financial aid at 54k.

I’m sorry to hear this! Where did you apply? Were your test scores too low? If you give us some additional information, we might be better able to identify potential reasons for your predicament.

There are some American universities around Europe that are still accepting applications (and most of them are quite cheap), and you can also take a gap year and reapply next year. There are other options as well. Don’t despair!

I am sorry to hear this! but u can always appeal, please don’t give up hope. I got rejected by my dream school and I am working on an appeal letter, you can do the same thing too. and GOOD LUCK ;)

You could take a gap year.

Are you living in the US now?

What schools did you apply to?

How much can your parents contribute?

What are your test scores?

If you’re female, try Wesleyan College. I think they’re still accepting applications, and it’s relatively cheap for an American college. I don’t know if you’ll get FA, but it’s a worth a shot.

pretty much same here…
I didnt even request for financial aid…
maybe I was just wrong person for those top schools…
my 10-year dream has been all shattered today…
I know it is not the end of the world but
it is true that I am disappointed more that I thought.

I applied to pretty much the 23 schools from the 100 that give the most financial aid for international students. I got a low sat score as well.
Yes, I know, I got rejected because of FA and SAT score and a very complicated education, i’ve studied in 4 languages in 4 different educational systems. Now i’m in a British school.

What is an appeal? and how do we appeal? :)

Are you sure you mean Wesleyan and not Wellesley College?
I applied to Wesleyan and got rejected :(

“Now i’m in a British school.”

studentsr -

Does this mean that you are in the UK? Or are you in a British-type school somewhere else? If you are in a British-type school in the US right now, you need to find out if that state considers you an in-state resident for tuition and fees at public colleges and universities.

Other than that, you really do need to sit down with your parents and find out what they can pay for your education. Then you need to do more research on universities in various countries. You may find something that fits your budget.

Wishing you all the best.

Did you apply to Wesleyan University or Wesleyan College? They’re two different institutions.

*I applied to pretty much the 23 schools from the 100 that give the most financial aid for international students. I got a low sat score as well.
Yes, I know, I got rejected because of FA and SAT score *

I don’t think appealing is going to matter. At this point your SAT and your need for FA are going to be roadblocks. It would be harder than coming off the waitlist…and that process is often need-aware.

Same here!!! But instead of 23 I applied to 16…I think Ill take a gap year

Should I let the only college where i got waitlisted know?

If you have a guidance counselor at your school, you might have him or her call the waitlist school to say that if they admit you, you’ll attend (assuming that’s true).

Forget the appeals, it’s a waste of time. Accept a position on the waitlist with a nice letter. Then get to work mitigating the circumstances. Don’t expect a positive result, but you may get lucky.

There may still be options, but you need to learn what they are, and start acting.

ANSWER THESE QUESTIONS

1) How much can you afford to pay?

2) What do you want to study?

3) What kind of school did you want to go to?

See my other post for suggestions I made to another poster.

go apply for clemson university… their deadline is may 1st

clemson is a pretty good state school in south carolina (usnews-#64 national universities)
their tuition and fees for international student is approx. $42310 (total) a year, but with your stats, you can probably get some merit money there
http://www.clemson.edu/admissions/undergraduate/tuition-fees.html

you can always transfer to elsewhere after the first year

This can really be devastating but right now is the time to pick up the pieces.Remember that you are still an intelligent, diligent student, that has not changed. One option is to take a gap year and reapply next year. Also, have you heard of Jacobs University Bremen? It is an excellent need blind international school in Germany and they accept applications through June 15.Its a US style school so you can apply through commonapp.Check it out!
