Rejected from UCSD, still a chance for Davis?

is economics a hard major to get into at davis?

bookworm…I was agreeing with you…

yea, i realized that after i wrote that out. sorry =/ its hard to tell with the internet sometimes, can’t hear what tone ppl are using in their head when they type this stuff out. haha i thought u were upset because i applied to ucsd and didn’t even wanna go there.

I want to go to Davis too! Got rejected from UCSD ( which honestly I am okay with, because it’s too close to home.) Too me UC’s are super tough, and I’m super nervous. Some of my friends with great scores, gpa, ec’s and what-not have been rejected to both UCLA and UCSD…

I want to go into Biology as well. ? (Fingers crossed)

@lolleen:
Picnic Day is Davis’ big “open house” day.
It’s April 16 this year.
[Picnic Day](http://picnicday.ucdavis.edu/)

thank you @bookwork522 it took me awhile to realize that the post at the top of the page was directed towards me lol

and thanks @coquimom

on that note
POOP. sjsu’s admitted spartan day is the exaaaact saaaame daaaay -___-
i was looking at the events planned for picnic day
and it’s all just a bunch of wine tasting and pancake breakfasts and stuff for alumni…?

Picnic Day is awesome! There’s the parade, the battle of the bands, lots of food, the doxie derby, a cow with a window in its side… and lots more. I’ve been going since I was little and I highly encourage you to attend.

I also got rejected by UCLA and UCSD, so now I’m anxiously waiting for Davis (and Cal, though I’ve pretty much lost hope of that front). It used to be my safety, but now I’m pretty excited about possible going there :)

Rejected from Irvine and waitlisted at UCSB, do I still have even have a shot at Davis???

^ Same dilemma, crossing fingers

aww mhnguyen we’re in the same boat. But Davis is ranked higher, so if we can’t get into UCI or UCSB then our chance for davis must be SOO low…

Here’s a link that may be helpful:

[UC freshman admission rate drops a bit; more than 10,000 wait-listed | L.A. NOW | Los Angeles Times](<a href=“Archive blogs”>Archive blogs)

Tells you what the acceptance rates for each UC was last year.

I’m also worried about Davis…as of now, it’s my number one choice and I didn’t get into UCSD but I did get into UCSB…so we’ll see. I’m so worried I can’t sit still…

Here is a better link. It has a nifty chart :D

[CaliforniaColleges.edu - University of California (UC) Acceptance Enrollment Rates](http://www.californiacolleges.edu/admissions/acceptance-enrollment-rate-uc.asp)

I used to think SB was higher ranked and then i realized i had it reversed and now im a nervous wreck aaaaahh!!!

I did too, and the two articles aren’t consistent…so I really don’t know. it may still be ranked higher. In many “ranking” websites, UCD and UCSB are ranked equally or almost equally.

It may just come down to luck of the draw for us all…if your essay reader is having a bad day and its at the bottom of the stack, who knows how that could impact your chances :/

@Panicked: Interesting that the acceptance rate mirrors the way we rank these universities.

Yeah that is interesting. Really, all of the schools in the UC system are excellent, a lot of it just comes down to the prestige each school holds.

For me, I’d prefer Davis because it is further away from home (SB is only 15 minutes away) and SB the setting suits me better, I think.

you only live 15 minutes from SB, I am so jealous of you Panicked!!! But dude, according to last year did SB accept more people or Davis??

I don’t know…the LA times thing says one thing but the california schools website says another. I think I’d trust the second link more, which would mean that santa barbara was SLIGHTLY easier to get into than Davis…i dont think that difference would overshadow the luck of the draw (where was your essay in the stack, was your reader in a good mood) so the chances are probably about equal going off last years statistics.

This year could be entirely different…we don’t know.

This is ridiculous… so I give myself a 5% chance of getting into UC Davis. I’m just trying to choose between UCSC and UC Riverside for now…

man im just banking on some luck at this point… =/
