Sorry to infringe on policy: To view the video search "Yale Burning" (10/10 title) on youtube

No one has any comments? The videos are worth looking at.

I assure you my posts are quality (usually).

I already have my plan so neither of your options are appealing.

Do share? 10hchar

When I get rejected from any school, I believe I will do something drastic…in a bad way. I just don’t think my psyche can handle rejection. My parents said that they will be disappointed and angry if I receive any rejections and that failure is not an option. Too bad they made me apply to all the Ivies.

^seriously? I think I might be too gullible today.

I’ve accepted my fate. I pretty much spent these past months consoling myself, so now, I’m all good really.

hahaha! I loved those videos! Yale burning is very effective.

Well, the first thing I’m going to do is read some world news and realize my life is wonderful.
Then, I’ll consider my other options, and be grateful that I have them.

^Liar. You may do that eventually, but initially, right after you see those magic words: “We regret to inform you”…you will be heartbroken.

“The first thing” you’re going to do is die a little inside.

P.S. I’m going with a combination of A and B. I will definitely be burning any and all rejection letters, but I will probably be a bit more vehement about it.

Search “Angry kid burns college rejection letters” on YouTube.

^ That kid applied to tons of the same schools as me.
His best line is easily: “Duke. Let’s burn the rapists.”
hahahahahahha

I’m already resigned to a massive amount of rejections, but the first thing I’ll do is probably be numb. I remember being deferred by Cornell ED… I LITERALLY watched a chick flick with my mother because A) we didn’t have any other movies and B) I was so numb/crushed I didn’t even pay attention to what I was watching.
It was, frankly speaking, a very, very disappointing night.
However, (here comes the inspirational moral of the story!) the very next morning, I got up, saw that it was a snow day, sat on my chair, and did 5 applications to regular decision colleges.

And in two weeks, I’ll be rejected from all of them!

Oh well mine is just pretty normal. I will thank God for the opportunity and then start reading up on the research at UT and resetting my mind for being a Longhorn. (That is if i get rejected from ALL my schools not just yale).

If for say I get into Princeton and rejected from yale then I will thank God and go to Princeton’s website to look at the research opportunities.
For Harvard i will do about the same but be a little more disappointed because Harvard does not have a particularly attractive campus. Which is really important to me.

“For Harvard” . . . (meaning “if I get accepted”) . . . “I will…be a little more disappointed.”

ironic? lolz

Okay guys, Yale burning was very good but I think the best one was DecisionBack!
type that into Youtube and the video you’ll see is fantastic

Not really hookem, I guess it only makes sense if you understood how important the physical appearance of a university is to me. In fact when I firsted visited UT I was disgusted by the trash, but later determined it was a good campus because the outside facades of the buildings looked new, although the inside of some of the liberal arts buildings look pretty old.

Dude, Harvard’s campus is great, it’s just a different style of architecture. Instead of gothic (a la Yale or Princeton), it’s colonial.

The buildings were built forever ago, man. Give them a break.

I could tell the buildings were built forever ago. They should invest in I don’t know making the campus look better, I mean almost EVERY SINGLE COLLEGE I have seen has had a nice campus except Harvard. It is really ironic.

Like I said, lots of people like the fact that the buildings look old. I would despise Harvard if they started building crappy, 21st century glass dorms. It’s traditional, and it’s beautiful.

Yale’s buildings are just as old, but you may like them better because you like the style more.

All of this is coming from someone who prefers Yale, btw :)

Well yes I do like the style of Yale more, but I also liked Princeton’s campus that has a mix of gothic and modern (such as the Frist Center). But Harvard idk I guess to each his own.

Just a little over a week left.

I hope I don’t get rejected for another reason. I am waiting to ask this girl out to prom until after decisions come out so hopefully if I get accepted I can ride a wave of excitement and she’ll say yes.

As for Harvard vs. Yale campuses, it is not a mere colonial vs. gothic issue. Harvard’s interiors are not as nice, largely because they have not been renovated. Yale’s used to also be poor, but Yale has already redone (or, for some, is just finishing the completion of) every res. college, the libraries, etc in the past few years. When I spent a week at Harvard with a friend, I was amazed at how poorly maintained everything was… just because buildings are “old” doesn’t mean they should be ugly or poorly maintained on the inside…

Harvard was considering expanded renovations due to peer pressure from Yale but I doubt they’ll be able to afford anything now (colleges – like households – have gone broke).
