Does anyone ,even remotely, know any Nepali students accepted from WAITLIST?

My guidance counselor of Trinity college.

Grinell, I guess. Right?

At least some sign of hope. thanks!

From where was he waitlisted and then accepted from?

I don’t know exactly…But he told me in the same year, his friend got accepted in Trinity, Conneticut also from waitlist…I think it would be better to state the name of colleges that waitlisted you…I got waitlisted from Kenyon, Gettysburg and Grinnell…

I think guidance Counselor of Trinity College attended Grinell College.

My waitlists: Middlebury, Gettysburg and St.Olaf

As this is rejection thread, these are my 5 Solid rejections:

Colgate, Dickinson, F& M, Union and Trinity

Rejected by 2 more colleges ,but solely on financial ground.

I was rejected by Providence and Lehigh on financial grounds. @batuli what is your financial contribution though? I am starting to think my contribution is too low…

5k-9k depending on the colleges I applied to.

I guess providence needs at least $16,000 per year , even if we get their best aid.

I am starting to get really frustrated…Don’t know what to do next…Nyone help me…

@ BIBESH: what was your financial contribution for LEHIGH?

Is it bad that I have 7k in student loan per year? I am scared that my accumulated debt would be 28k at the end of four years. Is it a manageable debt?

My contribution to Lehigh was 6k. @nepalimussa if they are giving you a 7k loan then I would suggest you to take it… Which college is it by the way?

@bibesh: i have PMed you the details.

I would appreciate any advice from CCers regarding this. Really, isn’t 28k after four years too much?

There is a saying in Nepali, “MARNU BHANDA BOULAUNU BES”.

The college that has given you such offer must be better than Caldwell.(My due respect to Caldwell college and its attendee). When we do not have any options, it is better to do the basics. You do not need to stress a lot about loan for now. Just about every candidate has some loan in form of need based aid. A friend of mine who got through ED has a loan of around 5K, and he is so relaxed about it. So may that should not matter from my point of view. A sagacious view from college graduates might help more.

A highly anticipated rejection: Berea College

I got waitlisted by Bates. Did anyone else get accepted or waitlisted?

No, 7k per year loan is not something to worry about at all. That would mean $28,000 to pay back+ interest, which is VERY managable with a job after graduation.
Most people take out much greater loans than that. Nothing to worry about.

So all the decisions out… and many of us did not get a good deal.
What are you all guys thinking about next?

Did anybody get waitlisted by Dickinson? How much hope there is for sb waitlisted by Dickinson? :S

I got wait listed at Bates; However,I didn’t choose to remain on the wait list as I have better options in my bag.
