IF you really know that you want to be a doctor (the first consideration).
How good are you really? There are many who apply to combo programs who are going to med school with or without a combo program. I venture to say that most people who get into these highly selective programs will get into some medical school anyway. The considerations are; could you have a less stressful time in college knowing that you already have your medical school acceptance, will you be able to bypass the preparation for MCATs, does the program you're applying to give you a "break" in that the GPA you need to stay in the program is lower than the GPA you would need to get into the med school applying out of college and would you consider going to the college undergrad even if you didn't get the combo acceptance. Another consideration, especially for some of the Ivies, is that you could graduate from college and not get a medical school acceptance or not get the school you want (assuming the school you want has a combo program).
