<p>President/treasurer positions. Did great in school. I am so confused. </p>
<p>Which schools have you heard from/are waiting to hear from? Keep in mind that tons of academically qualified kids get turned down by their dream school every year, you shouldn’t panic.</p>

<p>Any you are still waiting to hear from? Where did you get rejected? Ideally, you would have balanced your applications so that some were to reaches, some to maybes, and some to hopefully safeties. I can’t explain it either but it is very hard to get in to many colleges, esp if you are aiming for top tier. Hang in there. Hope there is still news to be heard.</p>
<p>Berkeley, UPenn, Columbia, Princeton, Duke, UC Berkeley, Wash U, Stanford, Harvard. Only one, waiting on John Hopkins. </p>

<p>Yikes! Are there any colleges you’re leaving off the list? All those schools you mentioned are pretty darn selective. The one with the “highest” acceptance rate is Cal at 18%. I hope you get into JHU! </p>
<p>No matter how great your stats are, that list leaves you with no safeties. NOBODY is a shoe in for those schools. Hopefully JHU will work out.</p>

<p>It amazes me how the smartest kids are the dumbest when it comes to college admissions. If you post on these boards you have to know you should have applied to a safety. Frankly at least two of them.</p>
<p>Don’t worry, you can just start a community college, then transfer as a junior to your state flagship to complete your bachelor’s degree.</p>
<p>In NC we have the College Foundation of North Carolina (CFNC) that has an on-line “redirection” service that puts your application in a “pool” that colleges can tap into if they still have space in their fall freshman class. You might see if your state has one. Good luck!</p>
<p>In your chances thread, you listed UChicago and CMU. Obviously, they aren’t safeties, but did you apply to them as well? Have you heard from them?</p>
<p>Those schools are not guaranteed to anyone. Your 4.61 gpa is considered by the schools but they compare it to the ACT and SAT scores. With no safeties, you are stuck. You can transfer from a community college to some of those you’ve listed.</p>
<p>I’m guessing that some of these “Didn’t get accepted anywhere” posts are from internationals. With high financial need. CC seems overpopulated with them. Quite frankly, I’m getting a little sick of them when they don’t mention for 40 posts that they’re international - that’s the most important aspect of your application! The same rules don’t apply!</p>
<p>4.61 is wGPA. What is your uwGPA? It is a mistake if you did not apply to any safety schools. You do have a couple high match schools though.</p>

<p>I’m in a similar situation to OP. 4.0UW/4.56W GPA, 36 ACT from WA. Rejected from HYP, Stanford REA, UCB, Columbia, Carnegie Mellon, and Harvey Mudd; waitlisted at UPenn SEAS and Cornell Engineering. The only difference is I applied to a safety school: Cal Poly SLO, which is essentially a safety school for anyone with high enough numbers. I am currently committed to Cal Poly, and debating whether or not I should even sign up to stay on the waitlist for Cornell/UPenn.</p>
<p>@tomwantssnow, I am sorry that you didn’t get the acceptance from those schools. Your stats are similar to DS. I suggest that you sign up for Cornell/UPenn waitlist and see. It’s great that you have committed to Cal Poly SLO. Make the best of your college life there if you end up going.</p>
