Rejections,Acceptances

JustConfused, OK, that’s good to know. My D was there for MT callbacks, too but hasn’t heard anything, which probably means a rejection. I wonder why they don’t just limit the callbacks to a smaller number and try to save people from spending so much time and money, given the reality of just a few available spots…

Im on the priority hold list. Which is good because it means out of everyone they called back im in the top 25. But i still havent received a call or anything, which is really frustrating. Because after unifieds i got the email like 2 days later, and i thought i would know by now. not good. Although I know im not rejected, so worst case im waitlisted. :/

What’s strange is that they said they would send out the rejections first (2 to 3 days) and then send out the acceptances and waitlists later (7 to 14 days). It seems like an imminent rejection for me from what I’ve been reading on this thread :-(

My son is very new to this, he has been accepted to OCU from their fall auditions for BFA acting but really likes Texas State and auditioned MT there. He was at callbacks but has heard nothing. I find it strange too they would call back so many for only two spots? We did not hear anything about how they would notify so if the comment about rejections within first few days is true maybe there is still a chance?

^ See, that’s why I don’t think schools should make offers until all the auditions are done!

I received my TSU rejection around noon, as did my friend. Looks like the rejection emails are going out today.

Texas State Rumor Control:
I don’t know who told typecast’s friend that there were only 2 SPOTS left going into this weekend, but that is just NOT TRUE.

As of the end of the weekend and the end of this year’s auditions, offers had not been made on at least half of the available spots or on the wait list.

After going thru this for two years in a row, and now waiting with a friend to hear on her auditions, I know this is a very stressful time, but
remember to B R E A T H E . . .

Good luck to those still waiting to hear from Texas State and any other programs.

Yes, the rumor mill was in full force during this past audition weekend. I personally heard:

 1. There were only 3 girl slots left
 2. There were only 2 girl slots left
 3. It didn’t matter because you could only get in the program if you were one of _________'s students.

All of it was untrue and serves to illustrate the point we keep hearing here on CC. During an audition, be friendly and make friends if you choose to, but DO NOT LISTEN to anything you hear while you’re waiting. NO ONE knows what they’re talking about and a number of people will make things up just to sound knowledgeable/important/in the know or to psych others out!

(Funny how no one ever seems to comment on how many boy slots there are left. Maybe it has something to do with which sex is more likely to spread rumors!)

For those of you waiting . . . my D received Texas State rejection email minutes ago so maybe the waiting will be over soon.

Not sure if they have a waitlist or not . . . . (She obviously didn’t make the waitlist if there were one!)

My son got his rejection email today also to Tx State but still has the OCU offer!

I know that Texas State HAD a waitlist (I was on it! :)) when I auditioned 2 years ago, but the process was much different then.

Break legs to all of you!

I am assuming the TSU still has a very small program (last year 8 MT total?). While it was one of our personal favorites - we chose not to go the campus for “callbacks” last year as there were very few spots and it would not have been worth the expense to fly back to the mainland from Hawaii given the odds. Loved - loved - loved Kaitlin Hopkins.

Texas State MT class sizes since the program was re-vamped:
Class of 2014 has 14
Class of 2015 has 10
Class of 2016 will be in that range of 10-14
And there will be a wait list this year as there has been the past 2 years.

I’m thinking it might be good to move this discussion to the Texas State forum so that future students will be able to find it.

do-what-you-luv, would you maybe post that information there? And since you seem to be “in the know,” do you happen to know if all the notifications have gone out yet? D still hasn’t heard anything.
