rejects...mourn here....

I don't get into JHU= I cease to exist

If I don't get accepted for my info, I hope to god I get accepted for the sake of my sanity

You are so in love with JHU.

Woah. I have not seen this thread for a long long while. I didn't realise people had posted congratulations for me. THANKS EVERYBODY! I'm right now here at UCB and lovin' it! I hope you guys are scattered all over the States in excellent colleges, and studying, as I wish I were doing rather than doing laundry and watching YouTube. :P

We should have a sorta progress thread -- where everybody is after the four month buffer that is the summer. Hmm...

Anyway, kudos to all, and thanks again! ^_^ Tinas, where else have you applied?

a mourn thread? I hope I never have to use this to lament..

god damn...i already have 5 rejections to my credentials...but no worthy of a 'lament' coz they were MIT, Yale, DUke, CAltech, UPenn....lol....i don't want to add more to this list btw...

Damn!!! I just read this thread and now I am depressed!

don't be....acceptance is sweet only after some rejections..lol...although i don't like it that way....

that's why everyone should have an ultimate safety college, one in which they are absolutely certain of getting in and yet one which they wouldn't mind attending

does that kind of college ever exist???..i mean for internationals needing fin aid (like me)....i haven't found any college that gives good fin aid and is easy to get into...

in that way...i guess some rejections are pretty inevitable..until u are someone very special....

just read through this thread and have goosebumps now.

ultimate safety schools are usually ones which use only objective factors (e.g. test results) so that if you have a certain result you are guaranteed admission, and also one with low overall costs (so that you don't rely on unpredictable scholarships). Obviously you can't have an ultimate safety in the US, so usually it has to be in or near your own country.

i seriously hope i don't have to post here... come dec 16.....

shail619, what are the schools u applied to? well, at least u hv that geographical thg going on for u. i doubt that many bangladeshis apply to us unis/colleges.

umm... i think he's Nepalese.

I am Bangladeshi :).

ya....no geographical advantage in my case...there are tons or applicants from Nepal.....

and my college list goes like this...

Bates C

Brandeis U

Connecticut C

Dickinson C

Gettysburg C

that is an incredibly long list :)

I am applying to just 6 at the moment.

"Thats quite a list you've got there. ".......Can u explain in detail as to why and how????

Regarding the number....ya its long but after getting rejected from 5 colleges (yes got straight rejections).....u are bound to think that not even 100 is enuf..leave alone just 20!!!!!
