rejects...mourn here....

congrats melissa,
my class-mate's goin too Grinnell too.

and the Master List of Acceptances......

any more Grinnellians out there??

Way to go Melissa!! It was utterly depressing, before now, learning about your unusual predicament considering the effort you put through to your applications. Were you wait-listed in grinnell? How much aid did you receive?

yea i was waitlisted....and for soo long too...my admissions guy turned out really nice when i called him...he actually told me that I was VERY HIGH on the list....that gave hope...and well eventually i got the FAT letter!!

my need was met...gotta pay 10000, 4000 loan...the loan bit i can manage...and honestly, i am soo happy cause Grinnell was my TOP TOP prefference, it was one of my REACHES really, so this is all too good to be true!!

hey Arjun, where's your classmate from? does he/she post on CC? u can pm me...

awesome! CONGRATULATIONS! melissarahman, you must be over the moon now =)

thnx humed...u did a great job too! so happy things turned out fine for almost EVERY1 frm the 'class'.

thnx jaah. i am....hehe!

congrats melissa!!!! listen can you give me 2-3 LACs i should really apply to ?

CONGRATS, BABE!!! hugs you and showers you with choccies

definitely apply to Grinnell!!! DO THAT!! MOST importantly because Grinnell has the highest endowment and they seem to REALLY meet ppl's need, and that only improves ur chances of admission if your asking for finaid.

apply to colby, they waitlisted me, so that makes them good too....o know Lewis and Clark was also pretty generous this year...and Bard. Bard almost met my friend's need, but eventually he couldnt know, but well, i guess its worth the try. He is off to AUSTIN COLLEGE now, which is a great school so you should apply there too.

trust me when i say u can rely on odds. i was rejected 12 times, and got off the waitlist of my REACH school. i went through the troubl of applying to 16 schools, which was REALLY nerveracking, but it payed off. my ODDS payed off. so apply to as many colleges as u can.

Actually, apply ED/ EA to one place and be done with whole college application saga.

thnx izzy!!

Ooh ooh, congrats, Melissa! Glad to see CC's and your prayers have worked out!

I GOT GOOD NEWS TOO! GOT INTO UCB WITH 98% SCHOLARSHIP! WOOT! WOOT! WOOT! RELIEF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

cool...congrats jean and melissa...

Hey, congrats, jeanatkin!

I'd recommend Carleton, too. They have seven Starr scholarships for Asian citizens. If you can bag that, be absolutely awesome. Otherwise, a Sudanese friend of mine got enough aid that she only had to pay US$5,000. :)

congrats jeanatkin!!

wow! Congras Melissa and Jean!! way to go! :) :)

Congrats Jean! and thank you so much Melissa.

congrats jean and melissa! it's great to see that international waitlist do work out for some... even if it didn't for me haha!

jean how did u manage to get ur aid increased frm 1K a year to 98%?!

wow...
