Hello All,

I've applied to Elliott, Fletcher, SAIS, SFS, and SIPA. I'm curious as to your thoughts about the relative weight of various parts of the application.

I've got GRE scores which are pretty middle of the road, 670V/640Q, and a lower than average GPA (3.39) from a not very well known school, Manhattanville College. My major was poly sci and my minor was econ. My courses were heavily centered around international affairs. My work experience, 1.5 years with a firm working which works in the field of trade policy in DC, and experience abroad, studying Arabic in Syria since 6/07, are also decent. However, I think my personal statement is pretty bad

My LORs are probably phenomenal, but there's no way of really knowing. Besides most people LORs are good; the question is only how good.

So, THE question is: to what extent will the fact that my GPA is from a not very well known school drag it down? Also, how important is the personal statement rel to everything else? Any thoughts on my chances at Fletcher and/or SIPA?

Thanks!
