is anyone else going to Santa Fe?

I just have found out that I am accepted but I haven’t received my financial aid package yet. Can you explain this loan thing please? How is that gonna work?

ferhat are you talking about federal loans?

nope the SJC loan. I am an international so I can’t get federal loans.

I guess the loan is what you get after 35% of the total “tuition&fees and room&board” substracts campust work payment. Interest isn’t counted until 6 months after you graduate or stopped your study at SJC. Hope to see you there!

I will be there! By the way, there is a facebook group for st. john’s NM class of 2015! So, if you haven’t added it, you can add that and contact the other students! CANT WAIT TO SEE YOU ALL! :)

Hey everyone,

I just found out about St. John’s a few weeks ago from an article in the New Yorker, titled “Where I Learned to Read”, by Salvatore Scibona. I know that this thread has been dead for a little while, but I thought that I’d post anyway in hopes that some people still check College Confidential occasionally.

I’m looking to apply for the 2012-2013 academic year, but I was wondering how early was too early to apply since they have rolling admissions. Of course financial aid is a huge concern, and according to their website, packages aren’t put together until after a student has been accepted…Could anyone (who also applied for aid) tell me at what point they submitted their paperwork?

I haven’t been to college in a few years, but recently enrolled for some classes at my local community college. From what I’ve read about the school, the place sounds like a dream come true (for me at least) and I’m very excited!

Thanks :)

add me at Skype, I am “howyouswim”.

Their rolling system is almost dead. You have to push them to deal with your materials.

So I just mailed in my application yesterday and now all I have to do is wait to hear back…ahhhhh.

From this thread it sounds like admissions gets back to students anywhere from three days to a couple of months so I’m pretty nervous. It’ll be interesting to see how long it takes before I get any word. My essay was nine pages long (just under 3000 words) which seems reasonable, but I’m still biting my nails :/

For those of you who are going to be there this fall, how much reading did you do (or are doing) in advance?
