Sometimes applicants ask about religion at BC since it is a Catholic university. My family is not Catholic, some are not particularly religious, and some in my family are downright agnostic. We have all found that BC is a very, very special place and encourages growth through new ideas, discussions, contemplation, and above all-open mindedness and tolerance. Whether one is Christian, atheist, Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist, whatever- the Jesuits promote challenging yourself to becoming the most that you, you as an individual and special person that you are, can be. At least, this has been our experiences and a major reason why my family loves this school so much.
I came across this article in the college section of the Huffington Post this morning and since it pertains to BC, I would like to post it. Perhaps it can answer questions some may have, or just supply material for thought. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2015/04/07/muslim-at-boston-college_n_6788026.html
