How prevalent a role does religion have on campus and in the classroom? I am not Catholic and wonder if I would feel ncomfortable being Jewish. I will visit campus in January.

For a Jesuit university, Georgetown is actually very secular. Religion is not imposing on campus at all.

Thanks Calidan!

But if I am a really religious Catholic, are there very active groups that I could get involved with?

Pepperdine's the Church of Christ, I think.. but they do have lots of religious pomp and circumstance to go with it..

I think one of their essay questions were "What would you do to enhance your spiritual growth here at Pepperdine." I must have used the word God so many times in that essay.. geez..

there are plenty of religious groups to get involved in...I personally really love the idea of singing in that chapel...wow.

Oh me too! Hey, does anyone know what the music scene is like for non-majors? Because I need to be in some sort of choir...

My dad is muslim and went to Pepperdine, and had no problem. Although that was grad school, which I guess is much different than undergrad.

Personally, I'm not that active religiously at the moment, but I'd like to get involved in some religious groups and such. After all, Georgetown is a Jesuit school!

amy-- google "grace notes georgetown"

the Grace Notes are an all female a cappella group that I'm really excited about auditioning for if I attend Gtown.
