Rems

When I visited, I liked the dorms on the Quad a lot more than I liked Sue B. They were bigger and nicer, for one, and as UR_emmy said, they're close to everything, which will be nice when it's cold. The people I talked to said Hoeing is good.

The website makes Sue B. seem a lot nicer than it is, in my opinion. The dining hall in the basement is of dubious quality, so don't let it be your deciding factor.

any luck yet? i'm dying to know

i know...so hard...to wait...i wanna know right now...i'm ok to bear any bad news. in that case, i narrowed my choices down to gilbert and hoeing. i guess i'll decide that when i visit. visiting helps right? when should i try to schedule a trip to rochester?

i wonder if anyone has gotten any word from REMS yet

nah, i don't think so, but i think the time is nearing because i hear that gwu applicants have been hearing whether they were rejected or if they got an interview.

The website says that by the last week of February everyone'll be notified. Sometime in the next few days, we'll hear. Am I correct in assuming that in the letter we'll get soon they'll tell us whether or not we get an interview, NOT whether or not we're accepted to the undergrad?

If we don't get an interview, will they tell us if we're in the undergrad in the letter?

I bet Rochester is like George Washington. They probably let all the finalists know beforehand, and they're waiting to mail out the rejection letters to everyone else. If we haven't recieved anything from them by this time of the year, it's most probably a rejection.

i think if u get into the finalist list for rems, u also get an automatic acceptance to the univesity.. that's how it was with the renaissance scholarships.

will we be notified via email or snail mail?

about being accepted undergrad, yeah, as chemaddict said, if ur accepted, ur obviously in the school, but if ur not, i think they don't tell u if ur accepted into the school cause i think i read somewhere that the rems decision does not influence school acceptance, or rather rejection. so they can reject u from school and rems or just from rems.

i got my ed2 acceptance letter via mail, aka snail mail, so i assume they will notify us the same way.

Anyone receive it yet?

receive what? rems? nah...not yet...and i'm scared to call em up...

I'm guessing that it's snail mail then because this is the last week in February.

I haven't received my financial aid package yet.

Also, do I have to send in my deposit to get my Class of 2010 t-shirt?

it would make sense that you would... though... why? as an EDII applicant, you dont have a choice anyway.

I just want it to distinguish myself from the hordes of future University of Minnesota - Twin Cities attendees at my school. :)

i got my acceptance package today, but nothing about rems..

Someone in another forum commented that everyone who would receive an interview has already been called. I'm assuming that Rochester kept to their REMS notification of February 15th. Oh, well...

weird.. i kind of expect that they would tell u ur decision (after all, this isn't a scholarship, this is a whole different application)

and even if they don't... wouldn't it make sense that at least one person on this forum would get in? i mean, about 5 ppl out of the 50 total that got the renaissance scholarship reported on this forum.
