Repeating class 11th from India

I will be coming to usa in august with my family. In my board, marks are deflated a lot in class 11th so i thought that as i am moving to a different country, i can redo my class 11th and get a good score to hopefully get into a better university. Would this be good?( i am in class 12th now as our year starts in april not september

When moving schools, particularly if the new school is more challenging, it is not uncommon to repeat a grade. That said, if you end up repeating 11th grade, colleges consider both sets of marks. Every single US AO knows that marks are deflated in India compared to the US, your reason as stated is not a valid reason to repeat.

It is most common to repeat a grade indeed when changing countries, so that you get used to the language, culture, course selection, graduation requirements (you’ll need to convince your guidance counselor you can take AP and honors classes, depending on where you are…)
Are you in IGCSE or in your state’s board system?

Right now im in CBSE, and i have given AP calc BC and physics c mechanics and am expecting 4 or above on both. Actually, my main reason for wanting to repeat is because i KNOW i couldve scored better as i was caught up in the middle of my parents’ very very ugly divorce.

You wouldn’t repeat these classes. You wouldn’t be allowed to retake them. You’d take other classes, meeting your school’s and state’s requirements (English composition, us history…)
