Repeating PreCalculus

Hello!

This past junior year I took regular precalculus and received D’s both semesters (I’m typically an A/B student). However, this summer I retook the class and received A’s for both semesters (yay!). I was wondering if this really killed my chances at a UC? My GPA is decent/average (but my high school is within the top 5 in California so it’s considered challenging…and it’s a public school) and my SAT score is pretty good (2000+), but I’m retaking it again just so I can make up for what my GPA is lacking. My first choice is UCI because it’s the closest to me (disregarding UCLA), so I’m really hoping to get in there. Do I have a chance with my repeated grades?

Once you repeat the course, the new grades replaces the nonpassing grades in the GPA calculation. You are still required to report the nonpassing grades, but they are not considered for admission evaluation.
