reported scores in college board vs ccc

Hello, I am new to this forum. My eldest will be graduating 2011 and so will be for college class 2015. Anyway, I was looking at the SAT score stats here and that at collegeboard, it seems that the mid50% SAT scores here are higher than that reported in college board. I get nervous when I see such high scores and yet see many of these very bright students get rejected by the universities.

Anybody knows why there is a discrepancy between here and collegeboard? Are the students who are in ccc more competitive? Would you suggest that I use the scores here as a guide for us to know if we should apply or not in a certain university? Or would it be better to use the one at collegeboard? I figured that if we are below the mid50% scores of students in a certain college, then our chances of admission there would probably be very low.

I would go directly to the web site of your college selections for this info. They always post the year before’s incoming Freshman stats.
