Is it required to report our AP test scores? Can we choose to leave some out?

AP test scores do not need to be reported at all unless you are accepted and want to get credit for some tests you've taken. reporting scores on the application form is completely optional.

There is a section on the application to self-report your AP scores, but there's no need to send them officially unless you're matriculating and want credit, as fuzzylogic says. The wording on the application reads:
List Advanced Placement.... courses taken or under way. (If you have taken the test, please list the date and score.)
I think it's an exercise for the reader whether to list all or only some of one's AP classes and scores: I don't see it saying, "List your good AP scores." Personally, I'd list all of them to honestly answer what the application asks for, but I've heard other opinions put forth here.

sometimes the high school will report your AP scores on your transcript. If you have a score you want to leave off the self-reporting on the app, you should check on that.

I have a middle position. If you took an AP class and it's on your transcript you should report the score even if it isn't stellar. If you self studied for an AP and bombed it - I don't see why it's anyone's business but your own.
