Repost- final decision URoch vs Tulane

I have been accepted to both schools, and now I am forced to make a very difficult (yet very fortunate) decision. I have also been accepted to BU, but it is now off of my list since most of my credits do not transfer. Tuition is not my biggest concern, but I am very torn between the two.

I am a biology major with a public health minor (pre-med) and will be a junior in the fall.
A part of me wants to go to Rochester for the prestige and challenge, but another part of me wants to choose Tulane for its location and undergrad support. I have had the chance to visit Tulane, and I thought the campus was very beautiful. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to visit Rochester.

My parents and some friends suggest going to Rochester for its higher ranking.
Both are great schools overall, and I really don’t know which school is best for me. Any sort of advice/comment would be greatly appreciated.

Both are great, I think the deal-breakers are going to be price (premed shouldn’t be expensive) and location. Did you get any FA packages?

Two fine choices. I’d put Rochester ahead for the sciences but if you prefer Tulane and think you will do better in that atmosphere then I’d go to Tulane. My D has friends at both schools who are very happy.

Thank you so much for your responses! @chris3499 I didnt get any financial aid and both are roghly the same in tuition when everything is included.
And @happy1, I agree that Tulane’s location is hard to let go.

Rochester is perfect for pre-med.

If costs are the same, just go with your gut on which environment you think you will enjoy and thrive in the most… both will give you excellent pre-med training, so don’t worry about that.

Thank you all for helping. I have decided to attend Tulane in the fall.

Best of luck there.
